This historic log cabin, nestled along Chalk Creek, will take you back in time. Hortense is perfectly located for access to the Arkansas River Valley or assaults into the fourteeners, just outside. This historic cabin was built in the early 1920s and completely renovated in June 2004. Hortense is named after Hortense Hot Spring, just up the canyon from us — the hottest natural spring in the state. The cabin has three bedrooms with queen beds in each, a fully equipped kitchen, sitting porch and Great Room.
Hortense is about 15 minutes from Buena Vista, and 20 minutes from
Salida. Chalk Creek Canyon lies between Mt. Antero and Mt. Princeton.
The Colorado Trail is 100 feet from the front door.
